Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized for her highly laudable performance in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The movie Piano has won several awards for her which included an Oscar. Actresses have a lengthy experience of performing on Broadway as well as Off-Broadway projects. From the time she was a child, she has been passionate in the field of acting. She portrayed Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school play. Following a bout of Mumps, she was blind on the other side of her ear. This didn't stop her from pursuing her dream to become an actor. When she was a teenager, she took classes in drama at the college level and then moved into New York City from Pittsburgh in order to follow her dreams. Hunter was stuck in an elevator with playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They collaborated to create Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. When she moved to Los Angeles, she began to look for film roles. She landed one as an actress who played the lead character of Swing Shift. In the years since, she has been in many TV movies and series in a long career that spans over three decades. Holly Hunter won a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
