Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized for her highly laudable performance in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The movie Piano earned her numerous awards, among them an Oscar. The accomplished actress started her career in acting in the theatre with an array of Broadway and Off-Broadway projects. From the time she was a child, she has been passionate about performing. She played Helen Keller as a fifth-grade pupil in a school performance. The fifth grade was the year that after having mumps she lost hearing in the left ear. But she didn't let that stop her. In her early years, she was a drama student in college and moved to New York City from Pittsburgh in order to achieve her goals. She ran into Beth Henley in an elevator and they worked together to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart, Hunter's first film. Her first role in film came following her move in Los Angeles. For the past 30 years Holly Hunter has been on many TV and film shows. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame famous person and has been awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
